DEFINITION
United States Transportation Command

The DoD unified command responsible for providing air, land, and sea transportation for the Department of Defense, both in time of peace and time of war. It is also responsible for providing airlift, sealift, surface transport, and terminal services, and commercial air, land, and sea transportation, including as needed to support the deployment, employment, and sustainment of U.S. forces on a global basis, as directed by the Secretary of Defense. Located at Scott AFB, IL.
