K Factor

The relative measure of a sensor's ability to distinguish one object from another.
Theoretically (but not in practice) it is the distance between the mean locations of two observed objects given normal distributions and standard deviations for both objects.

K Factor

In vehicle operations, the ratio of the minimum operating separation between two vehicles to the maximum emergency stopping distance. Normally, the factor is greater than 1 to provide a margin of safety.
