DEFINITION
Industrial Resource Analysis

A quick-turnaround or a detailed analysis of industrial and/or specific factory
capabilities to determine the availability of production resources required to support SDS. These resources include capital (including machine tools and special tooling/test equipment), materiel, and manpower needed to meet the range of SDS requirements. IRA includes the results of feasibility studies, producibility analyses, and technology assessments. Shortfalls discovered in IRAs are assessed for risk levels, based on the reasons for the risks, and become issues listed in the BMDO Producibility Programming and Issues Resolution Strategies (PPIRS) document.
