Hacktivism

The exploitation of computers and computer networks as a means of protest to promote political ends. The anti-secrecy group Anonymous is an example of a hacktivist organization.

Hacktivism

The nonviolent use of ambiguous digital tools in pursuit of political ends; these tools include website defacements, redirects, denial-of-service attacks, information theft, website parodies, virtual sit- ins, virtual sabotage, and software development.
