Clause

A provision in an insurance contract or endorsement to a contract.

"Clause": 1. A section of a contract containing a term or provision. 2. A section of a piece of legislation which has not yet been passed into law. 3. More generally, any important section within a document.
Clause

A Bill is divided up into sections that Parliament can debate separately. They are known as clauses. Clauses can be amended or added to a Bill. When a Bill becomes an Act of Parliament these clauses are called sections.
