Battle Management/ Command, Control, Communications, and Computers

BM/C4 is a set of automated processes which respond to the C2 system's control directives. The BM/C4 will provide the BMD system with the capability of planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling the surveillance and engagement operations of the system. It will consist of a distributed arrangement of personnel, equipment, communications, facilities, and procedures that will ensure timely human control of the battle management process. BM/C4 consists of a battle planning function, an engagement planning function, and a battle execution function.
